Allusions to Sally Field aside—yes, I really did find this book to be very helpful and the best of its kind that I have read so far(out of approx. 4 or 5 books on psychic development). The part that I found most useful was the explanation of the four types of psychic senses, and how some people are stronger in one or two than the others. This may sound obvious, but a lot of people try to receive psychic information by SEEING it, when their real ability may be in FEELING it. Or, someone may experience messages clairaudiently (hearing them) and not trust what they are receiving because it didn’t spring up before them in a full-blown “vision.” I understand now that my strengths are in psychic feeling and intuition, whereas my daughter is a psychic visionary—she has to have every light on in the house, she works in a very creative, artistic job and she receives vivid messages in full color. Read the book and you’ll understand why this description of a person with psychic vision is spot on!
There are “case histories”, or anecdotes, about people with each particular psychic strength which I think help back up his assertions. There is also the best “how-to” chapter on seeing auras that I have encountered. It works!
All in all, I found it to be enjoyable, informative, and a different approach to the subject. Try it, you’ll like it!
I had gotten this book 4 yrs ago on a lark, and found that not only is the book itself a solid piece of scientific theory with also solid guidance of learning about and finding your psychic abilities. But the author himself is FAR from being just another ‘floating gypsy looking to make another quick buck by writing a cheap book’.
Pete Sanders gives you exactly what psychic abilities IS: natural, and practical to access-just as it is to access any other part of your senses! there is absolutely nothing ‘mystical’ about this subject, but rather, people like to ‘mystify’ things, believing only that ’special people’ have ‘these special abilities’. Nonsense! that’s like saying that your other 5 physical senses are mystical! Well–he breaks that stupid notion so many western thinkers have and gives it just as it is: another science. another aspect or part of what all human creatures who, for whatever reason, seem to refuse (disbelieving included here) that ’such a thing’ exists, let alone having ’such an ability’.
Pete Sanders is down to earth, practical, scientific, realistic. He’s easy to understand yet not feeding you ‘more crap’ that are from the mainstream books on this subject that are out there. he’s real, so you be too (for those ‘new-age’ people or fantasy dreamers: stay away from this book! it’s not meant for your type at all!)
I’d begin by saying I think the author has the right technical attitude about psychic endevors; it can be harnessed and used at will. But, I believe, the spirital aspect of psychic ablitity, is purposely excluded from this book; done, I think to reach all religions and people, and to show that religion or belief systems in and of themselves are not inperative to being or using psychic ability. But what not everyone gets told about psychic ablitities is, nor does the book understand — or chooses not to comment on? — is that the clearer you get with yourself, emotionally and spiritually, the clearer your psychic ability becomes — regardless of whether you do any of the techniques in this book — or similar ones in any other book. That said, I do believe the technical, practical aspect of psychic usage is well covered. I believe the book gives one confidence to achieve the ends promised, and that is important. Even more important, the author believes in what he says and is a genuine person who wants everyone to gain from his study on the subject. It’s hard to ask for more than that. I am definately better for having read it, and infact, reading another book called “Psychic Living” by Andrei Ridgeway. This book is a perfect companion to “You are Psychic” as it touches deeply, and with a 360 view (the author must be a pisces), on the internal, unique ways each person interprets ‘psychic information’. These too books together are mavellous. Regardless, Pete Sanders, of the “You Are Psychic” book is not a waste of money by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, in retrospect, imagining having *not* read it creates a definate ‘hole’ in my psychic education. It is recommended by me. But ‘Psychic Living’ gets my vote as the best ‘psychic’ book I’ve ever, ever read.
